Understanding the Georgia indictment of former President Trump and his allies
On Monday, former President Trump and 18 others were indicted in Fulton County, Georgia. As outlined in the indictment, the alleged criminal enterprise had three basic elements:
- the recruitment of fake electors to submit false statements
- the false claims about, attempted infiltration of, and unauthorized access to voting machines
- the harassment of and threats to elected officials, election officials and poll workers.
CEIR Executive Director David Becker explains the indictment, part of CEIR’s ongoing video series to help combat disinformation and help explain why voters should – and do – trust our elections.
