Kira Flemke
Research Associate
Kira Flemke is a Research Associate at CEIR, with a focus on data analysis. Kira has spent her professional career analyzing democracy data and democratizing data analysis. She joined CEIR in July 2022 following an early career performing electoral analysis in media and academic research spaces. She seeks to improve public understanding of elections through accessible, data-informed insights.
Prior to joining CEIR, Kira worked as an Election Specialist at the NBC News Decision Desk and as a Research Coordinator at the Penn Program on Opinion Research and Election Studies, where she focused on electoral behavior, vote-reporting trends, and polling methodology. She performed quality control procedures, background research, and data analysis for election night coverage, editorial projects, and long-term reports.
She also serves as an assisting instructor for data analytics courses through Penn’s College of Liberal and Professional Studies where she uses her expertise to help non-traditional students develop data fluency.
Kira holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, with a major in political science and minors in survey research & data analytics and psychology.
