Newsletter: We believe this election will be efficient and secure

November 2024 2 min read by The CEIR Team

Tomorrow is Election Day, and we may be heading for record turnout again. About 80 million ballots have been cast already, with few incidents. Our system is secure, and voters are voting in convenience and safety, thanks to the dedication of the hundreds of thousands of election workers and millions of volunteer poll workers. As we complete this election cycle, I am inspired and overwhelmed with gratitude for those public servants who give us a voice. If you vote in person tomorrow, thank those that ensure we choose who governs us!

We might have to wait a few days for the media to call the presidential race, due to what might be very close margins. But be assured—our election system is as secure, transparent, and verified as it’s ever been, and the guardrails are in place to ensure that whoever wins the election takes office. Thanks to all of you for your support. I am optimistic we’ll have a busy—but calm—Election Day, and let’s hope for a peaceful process post-election.

Yours,

David Becker

New series “CEIR Explains” sheds light on the election process

CEIR just launched three interactive explainers that show the key steps of the election process. You can share the simple diagrams on each webpage to explain what election administrators and voters do during the process of “How a Ballot Becomes a Vote” and “What Happens After We Vote,” or what the news media do to ‘call a race’ in “How Election Results Coverage Really Works.” Click on any step in the diagrams to get clear descriptions of each step and links to in-depth resources to show others why American elections are more secure, transparent, and verifiable than ever!
